guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are God my Savior, and my hope is in You all day long. ... Ps 25:5
It was grey, and rainy today, by no means a pleasant day, yet sometimes blessings come in unusual wrappings.
I had a wonderful afternoon, Kate and I shared so many things of the Lord, I don't know where the time went.
Sometimes the Lord gives you something just for that moment, an insight, a truth for His purpose alone, and the words to share it . He pulls back a curtain and you can see something you never saw before through the eye of a difficult time, and it is priceless to your soul.
It doesn't matter if you saw a failing , He met you there, and taught you. You cannot hold onto it, it comes, He uses it and then it slips away, not the truth of it, however the moment, the exact words. The impression lasts for ever, it changes you, He changes you, it is so incredible. Words would do it an injustice.
I'm thankful for the Holy Spirit revealing so much of God's goodness to us through things that try our faith. It is not always the huge trials but sometimes unanswered questions.
Faith grows in the most amazing places... He is amazing, and I love Him, so much.
"He teaches sinners in the way." ~Psalm 25:8...I qualify .

It is a beautiful Lord's day today, I love winter, yet I cannot help anticipating spring ...the porch calls me on these sunny days, and I look forward to the rustling of the leaves. The squirrels are sweet entertainment for myself as well as my dear Scottish friend.
Seasons come and go much too quickly for me anymore,I find I long to savor them longer than they afford.

I swiped this quote from from Kaitlyn's blog.
Thank you Lord for being mindful that I am but dust.

"Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south, blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out!" (Song of Solomon 4:16).Look at the meaning of this prayer a moment. Its root is found in the fact that, as delicious odors may lie latent in a spice tree, so graces may lie unexercised and undeveloped in a Christian's heart. There is many a plant of profession; but from the ground there breathes forth no fragrance of holy affections or of godly deeds. The same winds blow on the thistle bush and on the spice tree, but it is only one of them which gives out rich odors.
Sometimes God sends severe blasts of trial upon His children to develop their graces. Just as torches burn most brightly when swung to and fro; just as the juniper plant smells sweetest when flung into the flames; so the richest qualities of a Christian often come out under the north wind of suffering and adversity. Bruised hearts often emit the fragrance that God loveth to smell.

Keriann called the other night and shared with me that at Casey's request she had taken the boys out on the porch to see the Moon and Mars. The boys love to see the moon and they have a particularly good view of the night sky from their home.
As it turns out they were full of "wows" , when Seamus the eldest (4), raised his little arms to the sky and began to say with dramatic emphasis..."My God is SO big, SO strong, and SO mighty, there is NOTHING my God cannot do. The mountains are HIS, the rivers are HIS, the STARS are HIS handiwork too..." Keriann said what amazed her was the spontaneity. "He gets it, Mom" she told me.
I need to go out at night and look up more often...
